UPCOMING EVENTS 
 
D.A.N.A Office will be closed for the holidays from
December 22nd-January 3rd, 2012.
For Emergency situations the crisis line will be available 24 hours a day as always.
 
Self-Defense Class:  DANA will be offering a women's self-defense class in the spring.  Registration is limited.  Call (336) 372-3462 to register.

ONGOING EVENTS
  • Court Advocacy: An advocate is present every court session (Tuesdays) at Alleghany County Courthouse for both criminal and civil court.  An advocate is on call to help with Domestic Violence Protection Orders every day during the week.

 

  • Individual Support Sessions:  Available by appointment.  Call 336-372-DANA for more information or to schedule an appointment.

 

  • Women's Support Group:  2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month 6:00-7:30 pm.   For more information call Kathy at (336) 372-3462.

 

  • Hispanic Women's Support Group:  First Wednesday of each month 3 pm- 4 pm.   Para más información llame con Heather a (336) 657-0466.  

 

  • Educational Presentations:  During the summer DANA presents various topics to Alleghany daycares and summer programs, the Alleghany Council on Aging, Sunbridge Resthome, and various other locations.  Beginning in September DANA will once again begin presentations to classes within the Alleghany County School System.  If you would like to know more about our educational programs or want to request a presentation for a group of people, feel free to contact DANA for information on topics and upcoming presentations. 

The annual school presentations begin on August 29th, 2011.  Children from all 3 schools in Alleghany County will receive this violence prevention presentations.  If you have any questions, please call Heather at (336) 372-3462. 

  • Professional Trainings:  Periodically, DANA will host a training on various topics related to domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, or other issues of violence.  These trainings will be posted as scheduled.
